TRANSPORT AND PARKING

Picture
We like to make getting here and around the festival as easy as possible.

Thanks to Busways, we have free shuttle buses operating all day.

They are being operated to;
- Get you to the start
- Get you around during the day if the walk gets too much or the weather gets bad
-Get you back again at the end of the day

Please note that shuttle buses will meet the Palm Beach Ferry at Ettalong Wharf to transport walkers to Macmasters Beach. The shuttle buses will also be available from The Crowne Plaza at Terrigal (Pine Tree Lane Entrance) to return walkers to Ettalong Wharf.

Parking

MacMasters Beach has very little parking. We suggest you park at Terrigal, catch the free shuttle bus to MacMasters beach, walk or catch the shuttles back to Terrigal and your car.

Terrigal has free parking at the Haven and at the Wilson Rd carpark near the shuttle bus stop at the rear of the Crowne Plaza Terrigal.

Avoca Beach has extra off-street parking in the park on Burns St

The other Lands generally have plenty of parking nearby during the winter months.

Parking for people with disabilities

There will be some disability parking near each Surf Club for holders of a disabled parking scheme permit.

Free Busways shuttle buses

The free shuttle buses save traffic, parking and the environment.  And they save you hassle and money.

Buses from Terrigal to the other 4 Lands will operate from 7.00am to 5.00pm.

If you intend to complete the whole walk, we suggest you leave your car at Terrigal and take the shuttle bus to MacMasters Beach. You can then complete the walk at Terrigal and collect your car.

Even if you don't complete the whole walk as planned, you can catch the shuttle from the nearest surf club back to Terrigal.

Whale Watching

Join Fantasea Cruising for a day of whale watching during the school holidays!

Coming up from Sydney for the 5 Lands Walk?
We have a great plan just for you

Make it a great day out.

One option is to drive to beautiful Palm Beach and park at the Ferry wharf, then

Catch the Palm Beach Ferry to Ettalong

We'll have a free shuttle bus to meet each morning ferry arrival to take you to the start at MacMasters Beach.

Then to get home, there'll be free shuttle buses from Terrigal back to Ettalong to meet the departing ferries to Palm Beach. The last departure from Terrigal will be 5.30 pm.

No need to worry about traffic, parking and navigating and the ferry ride is fantastic. There may even be whales or dolphins to see.

Another option, if you don't want to drive to Palm Beach, there's an excellent train service to Woy Woy. Below is our Transport brochure for 2017.

And if you haven't ever caught the train to the Central Coast, you're in for a treat.  Once the line leaves Berowra behind it snakes through Kuringai Chase and Marra Marra National Parks, across the mighty Hawkesbury,  up Mullet Creek in Brisbane Waters National Park then through a 1.79km tunnel to emerge at Woy Woy. It's a real treat of a trip.
