What does Ephemera mean?

The word derives from the Greek “ephemeros”, meaning "lasting only one day, short-lived". They are things that exist, are used or enjoyed for only a short time. Ephemeral things can be collectable items that are originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity.

What is Ephemeral Art?

In Art, Ephmera can mean a number of things when created to represent a connection to place, people, spirituality, the physical and to cultural identity. There are many forms of ephemeral art, from sculpture to performance, but the term is usually used to describe a work of art that only occurs once, it is not usually designed to embody any lasting object to be shown in a museum or gallery.
