The Mirring Women: Strength, Culture & Connection
For over two decades, the Mirring Aboriginal Corporation — affectionately known as The Mirring Women — has stood as a powerful force of cultural resilience, collective empowerment, and community-led transformation for Aboriginal women across Australia.
Grounded in respect, cultural integrity, sisterhood, and reciprocity, Mirring continues to nurture deep connections to Country, culture, and collective wellbeing. Their work is not only about preserving traditions — it’s about strengthening identity, empowering future generations, and creating spaces where Aboriginal women can thrive together.
A Legacy of Cultural Leadership
Founded as a Darkinjung women’s group in the early 2000s, Mirring has grown from its Central Coast roots into a nationally connected network of Aboriginal women from diverse Nations.
What began as a local collaboration has evolved into a dynamic membership organisation focused on cultural education, wellbeing, and empowerment.
At its heart, Mirring champions cultural safety and celebration — hosting gatherings, workshops, healing camps, and community events that reconnect women with ancestral knowledge, strengthen self-determination, and support holistic wellbeing.
Their leadership reflects deep lived experience and expertise across land management, cultural practice, advocacy, and business — ensuring that everything they do is grounded in authenticity and cultural authority.

Supporting Community Through the 5 Lands Walk
The Mirring Women’s commitment to community connection extends into their ongoing partnership with the iconic 5 Lands Walk.
Held annually along the stunning Central Coast coastline — from Macmasters Beach through to Terrigal — the 5 Lands Walk brings together more than 20,000 people in a powerful celebration of community, culture, and the winter solstice.
Mirring’s involvement in the event reflects their deep connection to Country and their dedication to cultural visibility and community wellbeing. Through their presence and participation, they help create space for:
Cultural recognition and respect
Community storytelling and connection
Inclusive participation across generations
As the event celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026, the continued involvement of organisations like Mirring highlights what makes the 5 Lands Walk so special — it is not just a walk, but a living expression of community, culture, and shared experience.
Community, Culture & Ongoing Impact
From cultural education and land stewardship to business development and national advocacy, The Mirring Women embody the strength of community-led change.
Whether through weaving circles, songline celebrations, healing camps, or advocacy work, their impact continues to uplift voices, preserve culture, and inspire connection.
Their growing presence across social platforms reflects this spirit — sharing stories of resilience, celebration, and sisterhood that resonate far beyond their gatherings.
